Traditional Acupuncture
Birkdale, Southport
Acupuncture works by boosting your body's natural ability to heal itself. This is achieved by placing fine needles into acupoints along meridians in your body and helping alleviate chronic pain and stiffness.
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture requires at least 3 years of Chinese Medicine training to fully understand theory and practice with additional postgraduate studies. I use a gentle technique, with ultra-fine needles and shallow insertion, which is painless even if you are sensitive.
I have treated clients who have experienced:
- Infertility and IVF support
- Migraines
- Back pains and sciatica
- Neck and shoulder pain/stiffness
- Insomnia and Stress
- Joint pains
Supporting Therapies: Cupping & Chinese Tuina Bodywork
Depending on your reasons for coming to see me, I may suggest additional therapies to support your acupuncture treatment. Cupping therapy and Chinese Tuina Bodywork with Spinal Manipulation can help to relieve deeper joint pain and imbalances.
Cupping Therapy is a relaxing treatment where glass or plastic 'jars' are used order to create a deep vacuum of pressure to release deep pain or tension in your tissue or muscles.
TUINA is a traditional form of Chinese Bodywork Therapy, incorporating acupressure, deep tissue techniques, stretching and Spinal Manipulation with adjustments.
Acupuncture Treatment
The first visit will last for an hour and will involve a full Consultation, a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis with an Initial Treatment.
If you have chronic, long-standing or multiple Pain issues, I may recommend a short course of regular treatments to help kick-start the body's own natural healing ability. Less frequent top-up sessions will help to maintain these improvements.
You will normally feel a difference after the first few treatments and changes in symptoms or pain reduction will normally be felt within four to six treatments for chronic, long standing problems. Lasting improvements for difficult issues can take a few more sessions.
For simple, acute or recent health problems you may only need one to three treatments.
Charges - VISA & MasterCard accepted
1hr Consultation & Initial Treatment - £60
Subsequent Treatments (inc. Acupuncture, Cupping & Spinal Manipulation) - £45
*Please note: there is a £5 surcharge for out of hours late night appointments from 6pm onwards.
Payment is immediately due after all Treatments, cash or card is accepted.
